Greetings everyone!
It has been awhile since I have posted an update, so I thought I would take this opportunity to take my brother Steve’s work and share with others. Steve, Missy, Emily, and Grace came over GR to meet Tyler, Alyson, and visit with Jayden. It was definately a great time. Steve has one of those fancy cameras that I would have to sell a lung for, so I am posting the link to the album he created. Take a look, He did a great Job! Absolutely awesome! For those that use Picasa, it is wonderful, I was able to download onto my pc within seconds. Boy I love the Internets. Now if my big brother would buy me a mac….

…get down tonight…

I wish the picture was better but with the low light and fast dance moves I was unable to capture the essence of dance, by Jayden.
Well instead of the doom and gloom information passed around I thought I would post something more enlighting. Tests done so far have shown nothing new. So that is wonderful! We hope the medicine keeps doing the trick and we can move on to other things. I am so glad the little scrapper is doing well!
So how about a photo update!
Jayden desperately needs a haircut. He is finally getting one tomorrow!

This picture of Alyson just makes me laugh

Great picture that Amy took of Tyler holding onto Grandma’s finger

Hope you enjoyed!
Well I have to say so far with the two test results are positive. They are not seeing any air in the wrong places which mean he does not have any holes in his intestine. Lets hope the medicine keeps doing the trick so the poor little scrapper does not have to go through surgery. If this goes well he will be still in the Neo for at least the next 10 days (no feeding at this time to allow for healing) once they get past 2 days of testing for air every 6 hours. I feel as if I repeated this already several times. If it doesn’t make sense, just remember we are having positive results…

Well…
Amy learned this morning that things have turned for the worse. After all of this excitement and good news we have learned that Tyler’s condition has worsened. He has an infection in his intestines. So now he is deeper into the Neo.
We are on our way to the hospital. Always keep Tyler in your thoughts and prayers, he needs everything he can get. - scott

Amy and I just came from the Neo. While we were there, he pooped! On his own! This may seem weird due to the excitement but this is just one step closer to coming home!
I also would like to share that fact that his IV was no longer present. I hope it stays this way! Since his IV was out he is no longer getting his TPN. This TPN is what was being fed to him to get his nutrients. Since that is out they are relying on him getting everything from the milk. Sooooo once again, forward progress… Let’s hope it stays that way. Mommy and Daddy want you home little scrapper!

I hate to jinx what is happening with our love Tyler, but things are looking better. Last night while Amy and I was visiting the hospital I ran through a magic trick that I have seen on tv a time or two. I snapped my fingers after a deep trance and told him to start digesting and then poo. That’s right Steve, everyone poops!
Anyhow, we received the news today earlier that his stomach was processing the food, not all of it, but close to it! Since it could of been a fluke we held off telling anyone this until we received another update scheduled at 11pm, the next time they checked his stomach. Amy just got off the phone a few minutes ago and learned that it showed again he was digesting his food!
We just need him to keep this up! As long as he is digesting food they can turn up the feeding and lessen the IV being shot into him. Once that is straight he can then start working on taking a bottle. This will of course take some time, hopefully we will keep making progress foward! - scott

Well hello again, I apologize I haven’t updated this as soon as I would of liked to. I was waiting to update this with a good news post about Tyler, but things aren’t going as fast as I would like them to. So I thought I would at least give an update…
Tyler’s progress is slow. He is still having trouble digesting food. They keep trying different things but for now it is a waiting game. We did finally get brother and sister in the same room together, something that has not happened since they were born. Grandma and Grandpa Findley visited and took this picture for us. It is amazing the size difference.

Alyson went to her first doctor visit today! We dumped the pediatrician that Jayden was seeing. We had enough of someone that was even more forgetful than I was, and didn’t seem to do everything one doctor should. Before she went to her appointment she received her first bath. Mom and Grandma Kearly headed the operation.

Well I have to say that Big brother Jayden has been doing wonderful with his little sister. He has rocked his sister in her swing, he has tried to help waking Alyson with “wake up baby” and offering the pacifier. Jayden has also helped by attempting to wash her bottle in the sink, and by offering his mashed potatoes. He seems to be excited about the addition to the family, well at least for now! - scott

Greetings to all!
Well I have to say this week has been one heck of a week! We now have a family of five! Tyler Alan and Alyson Kate were born on Wednesday the 28th. Alyson was born first at 7:52 pm. She was 5.3 pounds. It took four minutes of pushing and she was out. Tyler was a little more stubborn and didn’t come out until 8:15! He was the bigger of the two coming in at 6.5 pounds. Both of them of course are beautiful children, just like their brother!
Alyson did pretty well from the beginning. However, we did run through some issues with her blood sugar. She was monitored very closely and now needs to be fed about every 2 hours just to make sure she maintains good levels. I sure hope Amy has the strength.
Tyler has had trouble as well but with breathing and digesting food. He is now breathing on his own, respiratory rate seems to be going down, and he is beginning to digest food. Aunt Kelli, Grandpa Kearly, and I visited him tonight for a bit and he seemed to be doing well. He looked great, he was responsive and had his eyes open almost the whole time we were there. I was able to care for him, take his temperature and change his diaper. As events change I will try to update this site.
Well as the story goes…
Amy had been having quite a bit of trouble carrying the children. She had been having blood pressure issues along with other issues that were alarming. She was going to the doctor two to three times a week. Her legs and feet swelled up so much (as Brandt put it) they looked like cabbage patch kids feet. It was definitely hard for her to get around. She would have alarming things happen, we would worry, she would get looked at, everything was okay. It seemed to be a pretty common occurrence. So we kept on thinking she would make it to the induction date. She was put on bed rest on the 26th, I even had to rock out some of goulash I learned from my pa! Everything seemed fine.
Wednesday Amy was once again having trouble. She was dizzy and seeing spots. When she finally got through to the doctor they finally looked at her blood work and told her to come in. The babies needed to come out! Of course this had to be the day, the one day a week I go to Holland to help out at the Water Plant. Let me tell you, I blew the carbon out of that ole Windstar. I’m actually amazed the Ford didn’t fall a part when I gave her a little gas!
We finally got to the hospital, Amy was checked in about 4:30. Things happened very quickly! Amy did have a few random contractions during the day but now they were coming much more frequently without any help of medicine. It was quite strange how that worked. One person after another ran through the room like an assembly line. All of a sudden she was at 9 centimeters, then it was time to go. Like that…
Here is Amy showing off her big belly!

Amy delivered in the operating room in case we ran into trouble. She had a team of 8 people including the doctor. It was quite the sight. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of all the blue.

I brought Jayden up to the hospital to see mom and the baby. He was very gentle with his new baby sister. He even posed for the picture and said “CHHHEEEEESE”

Well I hope I did well. Thanks again to my brother Mike for putting this together for me. Hopefully our friends and family enjoy this.
